Essential Question: How do you create a multimedia presentation?
 
A Activity Summary Students will create a slideshow presentation entitled "ALL ABOUT ME" consisting of at least 4 slides.
C Curriculum English Language Arts
1.01 Narrate a fictional or autobiographical account which: includes a coherent organizing structure; tells a story or establishes the significance of an event or events; uses remembered feelings and specific details; and uses a range of appropriate strategies (e.g., dialogue, suspense, movement, gestures, expressions).

2.07 Identify, discuss, and use multimedia terms/concepts (e.g., multimedia authoring, web tools) to develop content projects as a class/group.
2.08 Use menu/tool bar features to edit/modify/revise multimedia projects to present content information for a different audience and purpose.  
 
Activating Strategies
Review the elements and terminology of multimedia presentation using PowerPoint as a tool.
Students should have completed the activity Multimedia Presentations - An Overview.
Require the students to complete the All About Me Storyboard (Me_Storyboard), filling in the information about themselves. Discuss the need for planning in preparation for creating the slide presentation.

Cognitive Teaching Strategies
Students will use their completed storyboards in creating this slideshow.

Have students activate the PowerPoint program. Students will create four slides for this presentation entitled "ALL ABOUT ME".

They will use primarily the options under the INSERT and FORMAT menus as well as the toolbar.

Each slide will contain text boxes and students will learn how to format the text including font selection, font size, alignment, text color, etc.

Refer to the Microsoft Word document: "PowerPoint_Basics" for specific instructions on using PowerPoint.
 
Summary Strategies
Group students in groups of three and have them present their slideshow to each other.
